Founded in 1994 by Steve and Karen Stalker, Stonefield Homes began with a firm foundation, formed by their 17 years of experience as successful builders in Naples, FL. Today, Karen acts as our office manager, overseeing the company’s day-to-day business activities and performing our accounting and bookkeeping functions. In addition, she is co-owner (with her daughter, Kris Skaar) of our realty division, and also uses her design expertise to make color selections for Stonefield’s speculative homes. The majority of Steve’s time is devoted to the essential activities of land acquisition and neighborhood development, but he also uses his more than thirty years of experience as a homebuilder to assist our clients with plan selection and the development of custom designs.

Kris Skaar, daughter of Steve and Karen, is Broker-in-Charge and Principal of Stonefield Realty. Using her degree in Business and Fashion/Interior Design, as well as her extensive experience in real estate, Kris guides our clients through the process of finding and creating homes that fulfill their needs, desires, lifestyles and personalities. Her other duties include managing our marketing activities and maintaining the company’s website.

Scott Stalker, son of Steve and Karen, is President of Field Operations. A registered professional engineer, he is a licensed builder in both North Carolina and Virginia. In addition to performing all estimating, permitting, and contract duties, Scott uses his extensive knowledge of home design and construction to transform our clients’ dreams into beautiful and distinctive custom homes.

Jeff Boltz, construction manager for Stonefield Homes, is licensed as a residential contractor by the state of North Carolina. He has more than 30 years of experience in the architectural, engineering and construction industries, involving the design of custom homes, commercial buildings and multi-family projects. His duties include oversight and management of all development and construction by Stonefield’s Coastal division. Jeff’s residential designs can be found in some of North Carolina’s most prestigious neighborhoods and have been recognized as Parade of Homes Award winners.
